Rumor claims Arkham City devs working on new TMNT title

Rocksteady Studios has definitely raised the bar for licensed games, their Batman titles (Arkham Asylum, Arkham City) leagues ahead of the shoddy movie tie-ins we regularly see, the Dark Knight's adventures having even earned Game of the Year nods from many respectable publications. However, a recent rumor claims that the successful studio will be trying out a new franchise for their next game, one a bit… greener than you may expect.

The Paul Gale Network claims that the next big title from Rocksteady will be "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Manhattan Crisis," a game based on the wildly 80s comic / cartoon sensation. There's a lot of interesting features being claimed as part of this potential title, though nothing seems more exciting a prospect than combining the bone-crushing combat of Batman with the hilarious beat-em-up antics of our favorite fighting reptiles.

Is the rumor confirmed? Not at all, something Paul Gale freely admits, having even wanted to ignore the rumor entirely until fans wrung it out of him. That being said, TMNT is one Warner Bros. property the studio seems interested in revitalizing, especially given the moderate success of the TMNT CG movie in 2007. And of course, there's the classic Shredder henchman: Rocksteady, who will assuredly make an appearance in any future Turtles game.

How could Rocksteady Studios resist making a game featuring their namesake? It's a no-brainer!
