Developer Ronimo Games is investigating a PC release of its upcoming title Awesomenauts, set for PSN and XBLA this year.
The MOBA (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena) genre is popular in PC gaming, and a computer port of their upcoming game is Ronimo's most frequent request, said Olivier Thijssen.
Ronimo is in talks with the game's console publisher, DTP Entertainment, about the possibility of bringing the title to PCs. The biggest obstacle to releasing Awesomenauts on Steam is rebuilding the game's entire backend, a task the studio isn't equipped for.
"If we go to PC, we want to do it full on," said Ronimo's Jasper Koning, hoping for regular updates and plentiful download content on a level akin to releases like League of Legends or Dungeon Defenders.
The 2D sidescrolling MOBA game Awesomenauts is scheduled for early 2012.
