Respawn’s Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is being ported to PS4 and Xbox One

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, the sequel to Fallen Order, saw a successful release earlier this year, but was only available on PC and current-generation consoles, the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. However, it looks like Respawn is now hard at work porting the game to previous generation consoles, the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

While it seems odd that Respawn would go back to the game and working on a port for last-generation consoles, the reality is that there are still millions of gamers who have never upgraded their consoles, which means there’s still a large install base that could experience Cal Kestis’ next adventure.

The last-gen port was announced during EA’s earnings call, but Respawn reiterated that the current version on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series will remain a top priority, and they will continue to update the game and improving the performance on those platforms, first and foremost.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor came out to mostly glowing reviews, getting a “Mighty” rating on OpenCritic, with an average score of 84, and 88% of critics recommend it. It continues the adventures of Cal Kestis and his crew, including a few new faces, as he strives to keep himself alive after the events of Order 66, which purged the Jedi to near extinction.
