with the big boys” and featured the game on the cover of its November 2005
issue. TeamXbox.com said the game “…deserves a spot alongside such great WWII
titles as the Call of Duty and Brothers in Arms franchises” and gave Heroes
its Editors Choice Award.
“It’s a great honor to receive such prestigious awards from
the Australian Game Developers Conference,” said Mike Fegan, CEO of IR Gurus.
“The combination of the talent and industry of our team in Melbourne with the
production management expertise of Red Mile has led to a great success, which
we hope to repeat many times in the future together.”
GripShift successfully fuses platform, driving and puzzle
elements to create a unique gameplay experience for the PSP™ system.
GripShift’s design has been popular with media and gamers alike, including
respected video game magazine Edge UK, which, in a recent review, described
GripShift as “one of PSP’s finest and full-featured games to date.”
“GripShift was a labor of love for Sidhe. To have its
originality and design values recognized and awarded by our peers is a
fantastic validation,” said Mario Wynands, Managing Director of Sidhe
Interactive.
In its seventh year, the AGDC awards have been an important
part of the Australian Game Developers Conference, which has worked to educate
and acknowledge the vibrant game development scene in Australasia.
