FOR PROJECT THREE
publisher Project Three Interactive today announced they signed the rights to
the futuristic graphic adventure Schizm, created by Polish studio LK Avalon.
The Myst-like game has been in development for over 2 years and will be
released in February 2001. It is one of the first games especially produced
for PC DVD-Rom and will also be available on PC CD-Rom.
was definitely the best game from Project 2’s line-up and was also already
presented at the ECTS 99, so we are very pleased to have Schizm on board again
as our showcase at Project 3. The game is a combination of incredible graphics
and mind-boggling creative puzzles fitting perfectly well with the truly
mysterious storyline. We firmly believe it is the best game in its genre at
this current moment, " comments CEO Robert Ercevic.
(full title ‘Schizm: mysterious journey’) certainly is huge: it takes up
nearly 10 Gigabytes of space, which is one of the reasons why it was
originally developed for DVD. Through usage of various high-tec development
tools Schizm provides 360 degree panoramic views in hundreds of different
locations, full motion high resolution video sequences featuring live actors
in virtual environments, and an atmospheric soundtrack at full 360 degree
sound positioning. The storyline was written in collaboration with Australian
award winning SF writer Terry Dowling.
Avalon produced a similar adventure game for Project 2 in 1998 called "Reah".
Compared to that game not only the puzzles and graphics, but also the gameplay
has improved radically: smooth mouse control combined with the highest quality
of prerendered graphics enhance a feeling of immersion in a truly three
dimensional alien world. Because of the newest compression techniques a
scaled-down version will also be available on 4 CD-Roms.
