Sony's television streaming service PlayStation Vue just got a bit more attractive today, adding AMC Networks to its list of supported channels. Just in time for the finale of The Walking Dead season finale, the following networks are now available through the serivce:
Included in all of the PS Vue packages
- AMC
- WEtv
Included in Core and Elite packages
- IFC
- Sundance
PlayStation Vue, which launched in three U.S. markets — New York, Chicago, and Philadelphia — over a week ago, offers subscribers of its "Access" package around 50 channels for $49.99 per month. Included in this base package are CBS, FX, MTV, FOX, NBCS, Bravo, TBS, TNT, Spike, USA, and more.
AMC is home to such hits as Mad Men, Breaking Bad spin-off Better Call Saul, and The Walking Dead which, for me, made cutting cable difficult. With both PlayStation Vue and Sling TV now offering AMC, my decision to rid myself of a standard cable contract might become easier.
I still think PlayStation Vue is still a bit on the pricey end, but it's definitely a step in the right direction.
