If you're a proud owner of Warhawk on the Playstation 3, Lightbox Interactive announced that they will be holding a "private beta" for the upcoming PS3-exclusive game, Starhawk.
Players in North America and Europe are the only ones that will be able to access it. Starhawk is definitely looking like a fine successor to Warhawk, with some impressive additions such as base construction and transforming vehicles.
President of Lightbox, Dylan Jobe stated that players will recieve "special email invites" with beta keys and will be pull into the beta to stress test its servers.
"The order in which players are granted access is a dark art known only to Sith-IT-Managers and Gwyn, Lord of Cinder," said Jobe. "Suffice it to say, it's a mix of your rank/level in Warhawk, your involvement in the Warhawk community, and a few other magical perimeters."
Among the things that Lightbox is trying to accomplish with this beta is weapon balancing, as well as testing out the new SkillScore player ranking system, as well as balancing the server load. Players will be able to share their experiences and give feedback to the company through a secure forum set up by Sony. This means that hopefully all the bugs and balances will be ironed out before the game launches, as Jobe and other Warhawk developers will be interacting with players on the forum.
"We'll be going into more details on which features will be included in the private beta in the coming weeks, but for now, I hope our Warhawk player community is as excited about this opportunity as we are."
Upon the game's release, beta participants will receive a gift rewarding them for their efforts.
