Obsidian Entertainment announces new classic RPG ‘Tyranny’

Sometimes evil wins

Obsidian Entertainment and Paradox Interactive announced a brand new game by the name of Tyranny.

Obsidian Entertainment has a long history of making role playing games, such as Fallout: New Vegas and Pillars of Eternity, and now they are back working with their friends at Paradox Interactive on Tyranny.

Tyranny is a game where the battle between good and evil has already been fought and evil won. The evil Overlord Kyros and his armies has conquered the lands and you take on the role as the Overlord's judge and executioner, acting under the watchful eye of Overlord Kyros' Archon of Justice, Tunon the Adjudicator. You have the power to change and shape the lives and thousands, to inspire justice and loyalty, or fear and cruelty.

Tyranny looks very similar in both artstyle and gameplay to Pillars of Eternity, which both Obsidian and Paradox are happy about and they hope their fans are as well.

Obsidian Entertainment and Paradox Interactive worked together on Pillar of Eternity which old school RPG fans all over the world fell in love with and Tyranny aims to follow up on that success. The Tyranny website already has a "World" tab where you can read up on the lore about the different places you'll visit during the game.

Since Tyranny was announced so recently no release date for Tyranny has been announced.
