NYCC 2016: Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers game announced for PC and consoles

DO NOT FREAK OUT. DO NOT FREAK OUT

Bandai Namco announced a brand new Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers game today with literally zero fanfare. As someone who personally attended the event today, and will this whole weekend, I can say there was not a mention of this game anywhere.

Called Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers: Mega Battle, it's a side scrolling action game reminiscent of those big ole' 4-person arcade games. You know, X-men and Turtles in Time style. It will feature both solo and four player co-op that will let you level up all of the original six Rangers. As you can tell by the trailer, voice lines have been ripped from the first two seasons from characters like Rita, Alpha and the rest of the Rangers. Characters will be leveled up for increased power as well as a number of unlocks according to the E-mail release by Bandai.

The rest is a mystery for now, but the game will release in January 2017 for Xbox One, PS4 and PC. This Saturday at 2PM Eastern Lionsgate is hosting a panel at NYCC featuring the first ever footage from the upcoming Power Rangers film. It will be broadcast live on Twitch, and I'll be there in attendance for all of the live updates.

Let us know what you think of the game below.
