I'm glad I don't live in Australia. It's nothing against the place, really, but it almost seems as though gamers over there aren't allowed to have any fun.
Telltale Games announced that it wouldn't be releasing The Walking Dead series in Australia or New Zealand due to the strict OFCL rating laws. "Sorry, but due to the OFLC ratings laws in Australia and New Zealand, and the fact that this is a mature game, we do not currently have plans to release the game there on consoles," stated the adventure game publisher.
You can't really fault Telltale for this decision. In the past, games have been rejected due to their violent nature and themes. As a result, gamers living in Australia have missed opportunities to play great games.
I really want to play The Walking Dead games. I'm a big fan of the TV show, and I just got into the comic books, which are also incredible. So yeah, when I say I'm glad I don't live in Australia, without intending to insult anyone living there or the country itself, I mean it. Because, you know, I like playing games and all that.
