Mario Kart 7 is one of the games you should be watching out for if you own a Nintendo 3DS. Why? Because it's one of very few notable 3DS games. Also, it's freaking Mario Kart!
It was recently revealed that a wheel peripheral would be released for use with Mario Kart 7. Apparently, turning your 3DS from side to side seems like an awesome idea to someone. Personally, I think it's kind of weird.
One thing that's not weird, however, is Nintendo's recent decision to release a bunch of screenshots of Mario Kart 7. Not only do these screens show off the game's characters and weapons, but also a slew of new features. The biggest addition appears to be the first-person racing mode, which puts you in the driver's seat and will seemingly put that wacky wheel add-on to good use.
There are also some new items, as indicated by an image of Metal Mario racing across a level. I doubt this is a character–in all likelihood, it will be a weapon that allows your characters to turn into metal, which is mighty sweet. You can also use Miis, something I wasn't a fan of in Mario Kart Wii.
