Nintendo pulling Yoshi’s Cookie from Wii Virtual Console

Nintendo is pulling Yoshi's Cookie from the Wii Virtual Console this Friday, Oct. 18.

An expired license, which prompted the removal of titles like Konami's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Irem's R-Type, may be to blame.

Yoshi's Cookie is a tile-matching puzzle game that first released in 1993 for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) and Game Boy. It came to the Wii Virtual Console five years ago. It's already gone from the service in Europe and Japan.

After Friday, you won't be able to purchase or redownload the game.
