Bethesda has released a new video for their multiplayer-survival game Fallout 76. The faux-instructional video shows the importance of being social and making friends in the perilous wasteland of post-nuclear war West Virginia. Check out the trailer.
Fallout 76 is steadily nearing its release set for November 14th and with a beta to start in October, fans who can’t wait anymore in anticipation won’t have to stay patient much longer. The fact that the Beta is not only intended as a nice bonus for early birds who pre-order Fallout 76 but will also feature the entire game, including the bonus of carrying over any progress made during the beta into the final game is seriously a tempting pre-order bonus.
In preparation of both the beta and the final release of Fallout 76, Bethesda has started to push out fun little introduction videos, in the style of instructional videos by Vault-Tec of yesteryear. The first in the “You will Emerge!” series of Vault-Tec videos was released during Bethesda’s Q&A session during this year’s QuakeCon. Today’s video is emphasizing the advantages of being a wasteland wanderer in a group. In typical Vault-Tec style, we see how easy – and brutal – to perish in the nuclear wasteland all on your own. A group of up to four players offers valuable protection and deterrence against the elements, mutated monsters and hostile players.
Of course, if you choose to become part of a group, you won’t be forced into it forever. Members or the entire group may find their untimely ends and it is up to each player whether they want to regroup with the same players or search for a new party. Obviously there is always the chance of going the lone wolf route and indeed, the developers have stated that that is a viable playstyle but playing cooperatively is undoubtedly the big draw of Fallout 76.
Never before was it possible to experience the fascinating world of Fallout games together with friends or against other players. And Bethesda is making sure that Fallout 76 really shines when you engage in the social aspect of the game.
Fallout 76 is set to release November 14th for PC, PS4 and Xbox One. The Beta will begin sometime in October for users who pre-ordered on all platforms but Xbox One users will get a head start.
