New set images from ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’ look very Mad Max-ish

Mad Max: Fury Road has a slew of new on-set images being released online, and you can definitely recognize the Mad Max style. Vehicles covered with spikes? Check. Weird, leathery masks? Check. Buggies with giant wheels and skulls on the front? Check. Bracers with knives attached? Check. It looks like the Mad Max reboot is everything I hoped for.

Mad Max: Fury Road has been filming in Africa since July 9th. The films stars Tom Hardy (The Dark Knight Rises, Inception) as the main character, Mad Max — originally played by Mel Gibson. It also has Charlize Theron (Snow White and the Huntsman) as Imperator Furiosa, and features Zoe Kravitz, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Nicholas Hoult.

The film continues where Beyond Thunderdome left off. The recently released officialy plot synopsis is:

Mad Max is caught up with a group of people fleeing across the Wasteland in a War Rig driven by Imperator Furiosa. This movie is an account of the Road War which follows. It is based on the Word Burgers of the History Men and eyewitnesses accounts of those who survived.
