Need for Speed Most Wanted U races on to Nintendo’s Wii U

Need for Speed Most Wanted U, an enhanced version of the previously released Need for Speed Most Wanted from Criterion, is now available for the Nintendo Wii U.

"At Criterion Games, we really took the time to learn and understand the Wii U. When creating Need for Speed Most Wanted U, we wanted to maximize the console's power to deliver an immediately fun and accessible racing experience. We are very proud of the end result," Executive Producer Rob O'Farrell said of the game's Wii U launch.

Designed specifically for Nintendo's console, Most Wanted U has features specifically built to take advantage of the Wii U GamePad. One such feature is a local co-op mode, "Co-Driver," that allows one player to drive using the Wii Remote or Wii U Pro Controller while another player uses the GamePad to provide control and navigation assistance on the interactive real-time map. The player with the Gamepad can distract persuing cops, switch from night to day, activate enhance performance for any car, and even troll the other player by controlling the amount of traffic on the road.

Other GamePad specific features include the ability to seamlessly switch between cars with a simple press of the touchscreen, as well as the option to play off-screen using just the controller's built-in screen. Need for Speed Most Wanted U also includes the Ultimate Speed Pack expansion — five ridiculously fast cars that I'll probably never ever get to drive in real life.

Need for Speed Most Wanted released back in 2012 for Xbox 360, PS3, and PC. Our very own Mike Splechta scored it an impressive 8.5/10, calling out its intense "action" and "streamlined" presentation.
