EA is seriously working to promote their Origin digital download service. Well, I guess making Origin the only download option for PC players is a bit different from "promotion" but the point is that EA is looking to position their service as a huge competitor against Valve's Steam. This new Need for Speed collection seems like an indicator of their strategy, deep discounts on the backstock of proven EA titles, bundled with the latest in the franchise.
Basically, if you were going to pay $50-$60 for Need for Speed: The Run (you should, it's awesome), why the hell wouldn't you drop another twenty bones on the full monty? For just $80 players can snatch the Need for Speed collection from Origin, which includes:
- Need for Speed: The Run (Duh)
- Need for Speed: Undercover
- Need for Speed: Shift
- Need for Speed: Prostreet
- Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit
- Shift 2 Unleashed
- Burnout Paradise
This wicked sweet deal expires December 31st, so be sure to grab it in time for the holidays. Though if this collection won't sate your need for speed, what the heck will? Still not sure if you're ready for The Run? Check out GameZone's exclusive interview.
