Minecraft translation results in ethnic slur

As everyone knows, Mojang is working to create a language translation database for popular PC game Minecraft. While the game is currently playable in many languages, it relies somewhat on user-submitted translations of the menu and other text.  This is great in the sense that you can cover all the different dialects.  Of course, sometimes you get a few bad apples.

As is the case with the newest version of Minecraft which greeted players with a racial slur when they switched their language settings to Afrikaans, the language spoken in South Africa and Namibia.  The sentence "You are a N*GGER" appeared when you switch languages.  Just so you know, the second letter was not bleeped out.

The dreaded "N" word was apparently added by an unruly user who was thought to have been banned.  Minecraft's developers have since apologized for the ethnic slur.  Lead developer Jens Bergensten wrote fans on Twitter, "Sorry about that =( I thought i had banned that user."
