The Minecraft weekly snapshot 11w50a is now available for download, but unfortunately there are barely any changes since last week's 11w49a update.
New Minecraft lead developer Jens Bergensten informed fans of this week's update via Mojang's blog, "All I’ve done is to add a few multiplayer spam protections (to prevent packet spam and chat spam). I’ve also added a few new lines to the splash texts."
Jens has been hard at work with Mojang's other game, Cobalt, which could explain the lack of changes in the 11w50a snapshot.
"I’ve also been busy testing out different translation tools for the ingame languages. If you are interested in helping out with the translations, I suggest you try to locate the necessary information on the Minecraft forums," Jens explained.
Minecraft multi-language support was the big feature in last week's snapshot, but at the time Jens warns that the language files are "still a work in progress, so translation errors and mistakes may still exist. As stated earlier, the snapshots are in development versions of the game."
Jens concluded, "For the record: Currently Sheep eat both grass from grass blocks and from tallgrass. They will eat grass regardless if they have been sheared or not, but baby sheep will eat more often than old sheep."
