Some pretty important heads at Microsoft have gotten an early look at the November NPD sales and it looks like it's going to be a good Christmas for the company. Though the official numbers have not been released, both Major Nelson and Aaron Greenberg, Chief of Staff for Interactive Business at Microsoft, expressed delight in their sneak peak.
Greenberg recently tweeted, "Just got a peek at Nov NPD sales, not sure if HUGE is a big enough word…more to come shortly!"
Major Nelson soon followed with a tweet of his own containing the hash tag, #wow. "Just got an early look at November NPD's. #Wow"
Nelson is currently working on getting the raw numbers to share with the general public.
Given the release of several blockbuster titles in November, such as The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, it's not surprising that the sales will be huge.
Activision's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 set sales records, smashing the previous record held by their own Black Ops. Throw in the fact that Black Friday had some insanely great deals for Xbox Kinect bundles, and it's plausible that we could see record numbers for Microsoft for the month of November.
It looks like it won't be much longer until the official numbers are released.
