Mario isn’t a plumber according to Nintendo

Santa Claus isn't real, the Tooth Fairy is your parents, and Mario isn't a plumber. We hate to be the bearer of bad news but according to Nintendo, the Italian plumber doesn't actually do any plumbing anymore.

On Nintendo's Japan website, users can read character bios for all the Mario characters including our mustached friend who has been lying to us for several decades. Mario's character bio reveals that he was a plumber a long time ago. So, what does Mario do now? Is he unemployed? Is he retired? How does he pay his rent?! We need answers Nintendo!
