Luke Skywalker’s affinity with The Force is the latest rumor from the set of Star Wars: Episode 8

Luke might have his father's temper after all

Leaks, leaks, and more leaks. Hollywood can still pretend like an NDA means the same thing as it did before the internet, but "meh" seems to be the more appropriate attitude these days. With everyone out to get that next juicy leak for only about 20 minutes of internet fame, a bigger ego and (probably) $0, credibility to these leaks and rumors is shaky at best.

So in traditional GameZone rumor fashion, I say two things. One, take this with a grain of salt. And two, if this is true, this has the potential for some *SPOILERS FOR STAR WARS: EPISODE 8* .

Now that I bolded AND italicized the warning, you have officially entered the "it's your fault now" zone.

Here we go:

This latest rumor concerns the transition from the ending of The Force Awakens when Rey finally finds Luke Skywalker on the planet Ahch-To, the homeworld of the first Jedi Temple. A redditor calling themselves "Bothan-Spy" (applicable name) claims to have inside information that "a certain member of the First Order" (Kylo Ren) finds his way to Ahch-To apparently alone.

Bothan Spy goes on to say the following:

"A few weeks ago they blew up– specifically, blew apart– an Ahch-To hut. According to my source, Kylo and Rey have a conversation that Luke does not like. Luke tries to stop them. Luke gets angry… and the whole hut they are in disintegrates (re: 'blows up'). My source did not specify as to the exact cause of the disintegration, but based on the info I believe Luke accidentally (or perhaps even purposely) does so using the Force."

Could it be that Luke's outburst towards Darth Vader at the end of Return of the Jedi is not just a one time deal? It would certainly make sense. Luke has been through a lot of mental trauma over the past 30 years with the destruction of his new generation of Jedi at the hands of Kylo Ren. Is it possible that Kylo Ren found a fatal flaw in the ways of the antiquated Jedi Order, leading to him turning to Snoke and that he is trying to convey that to Rey?

Who knows. Either way, this rumor is certainly tantalizing at the narrative possibilities going forward.
