Links To Feature Bighorn’s Canyons Course In Future Versions.

Microsoft today announced plans to bring
Bighorn’s Canyons course to future Links add-on course packs. Bighorn’s
Canyons course was the site of last week’s Battle of Bighorn, where Sergio
Garcia defeated Tiger Woods. This represents the second Bighorn course to be
included in the Links franchise, following the addition of the Mountains
course in 1994.

Located in Palm Desert, CA, Bighorn’s Canyons
course is designed by renowned course architect, Tom Fazio. The Canyons course
measures 7,053 yards and is set among some of the most dramatic desert
landscape in California. With meandering streams, majestic waterfalls and
rocky canyons as the backdrop, Canyons course is as challenging as it is
beautiful. Environmental and elevation changes will challenge even the most
experienced PC golfer. The front nine offers golfers vast fairways and
demanding topography, while the back nine is located at upper elevations,
taking advantage of the natural desert wash and existing canyons.

With the Canyons course, PC golfers will be
able to play as Sergio Garcia on the course that brought him victory over golf
phenom Tiger Woods. Canyons course will be joining the Links franchise in a
Links 2001 add-on course pack to be released in the coming months. Links 2001
is the most significant upgrade to the Links series in over a decade,
featuring an entirely new rendering engine that delivers unprecedented ball
physics and graphics, as well as the Arnold Palmer Course Designer, which
allows PC golfers to re-create their home courses with the same tools used by
the Links 2001 team. Links 2001 will be available at retail locations
throughout North America in late October 2000.
