Nioh is far and away the best Souls-like game to release in 2017, of which there is a rapidly growing number in one sense or another. While it mostly emulates its core game mechanics, it does take an established formula, puts its own spin on it, and does it very well. That said, the game's latest patch makes an addition that others in the genre may need to take note of going forward.
The game now has an option that allows players to choose what class of item drop that the Take button picks up. This is especially important for Nioh itself since inventory clutter is one of its (very) few pitfalls. So now, you can tell the game to only pick upĀ "uncommon or above," "rare or above," and "only exotic or above," should you decide to take advantage of the option.
It's worth noting that activating the feature doesn't make the game magically drop only rare and exotic items; you just won't be able to pick up the regular stuff.
Nioh is available now exclusively on PS4.
