Kickstarter game Night in the Woods delayed

Backers won’t have to wait long

The indie Kickstarter project Night in the Woods is being pushed back from its original January 2017 release window – but backers won’t have to wait too long for the game to come out,

On its official Kickstarter page, developers Finji announced the game is being pushed to February 2017 due to “normal development stuff.”

“It's all normal stuff, nothing is on fire, and it's all to do with the fact that we're a tiny team making a big game and doing a multi-platform launch is a whole *waves hands around* thing. Right now we're waiting on some info from outside parties as to the exact date we can launch, but it'll be somewhere in the first part of February.”

Night in the Woods was revealed as a Kickstarter back in 2014, and has since garnered some attention thanks to its art style and unique story mechanics. You play as Mae, a cat who is home from college. The game is rich in text dialogue, platforming elements, and even has bizarre mini games like a knife fights.

If you want to get a taste of what the Night in the Woods brings, you can actually download two free games, Lost Constellation and Longest Night, which are set in the same universe as the main title.

Night in the Woods is expected to launch on PS4 and PC. Check out the latest trailer to the game below.
