InXile Entertainment has raised more than twice its requested amount in funds for Wasteland 2. Due to the overwhelming support, the developer has confirmed additional content as well as Mac and Linux releases.
"And the number continues to grow, and that means a better product for all as we can hire more writers and scripters to add even more depth of consequence to the world, add more music and sound to set the atmosphere, and make the world larger to explore," wrote inXile. The company also posted the first piece of concept art by Andree Wallin.
Now that the $2.1 million mark has been reached, Obsidian Entertainment's Chris Avellone will join the design team, as promised.
The game's Kickstarter page lists a current total of $2,234,925 and has seven days remaining.
