Hideo Kojima is one of the largest figures in the industry. He's been the subject of controversy, released amazing games, and he received the "Industry Icon" award at The Game Awards 2016. With a status so high, it should come as no surprise this his opinion is valued by many gamers!
GameIndustry got the chance to sit down with Kojima and discussed a number of things including his most anticipated game for 2017. His pick was Rockstar's highly anticipated western, Red Dead Redemption 2. "Looking ahead, for games, my pick would have to be Red Dead Redemption ," he said.
Although Rockstar isn't sharing much about the game at the moment, many gamers are excited to get their hands on it next fall. This isn't the first time Kojima has praised Rockstar as he said that Grand Theft Auto V made him depressed because it was so good! He was concerned Metal Gear Solid V wouldn't be able to come close to it in terms of success and achievements.
Kojima also noted that he's looking forward to Blade Runner 2049, a sequel to Harrison Ford's hit film Blade Runner. It does seem right up his alley as it has that weird sci-fi feel to it that Kojima has in a lot of his games and it stars Ryan Gossling who he seems to be a pretty big fan of.
