ACTIVISION
VALUE TEES OFF WITH GOLF RESORT TYCOON

Santa
Monica, CA – June 1, 2001 – Golf and non-golf enthusiasts alike can get a
completely fresh perspective on the popular sport of golf with the release of
Golf Resort Tycoon by Activision Value Publishing, a division of Activision
Publishing, Inc. (Nasdaq: ATVI). In the game, players are challenged to
create, manage and maintain their own ultimate golf resort, complete with
clubhouses, pro shops, course hazards and much, much more. Golf Resort Tycoon
is currently available nationwide for a suggested retail price of $19.99 and
carries a rating of "E" by the ESRB – content suitable for persons
ages six and older.

"For
the first time ever, golfers have the unique experience of going behind the
scenes to build and manage their own resort," said Dan Hammett, executive
vice president, Activision Value. "Golf Resort Tycoon’s strategic and
addictive approach to the sport is sure to be a hole-in-one with golfers
everywhere."

Golf
Resort Tycoon lets players choose from a variety of different environments to
build their resort including a forest, a desert oasis, a mountainous setting,
a tropical paradise island or an autumn wooded terrain. Each area offers, its
own unique challenges and benefits. Forest levels will feature the highest
traffic, and will have the greatest potential for success. Desert courses are
among the most challenging to build and maintain, but are also very lucrative.
Mountainous courses require the player to incorporate the surrounding terrain
into a competitive and beautiful resort. Island resorts require innovative
strategies due to their small size. Finally, autumn courses have the benefit
of attracting golfers due to their stunning, ever-changing environment.

As
the course designer, players have to create a course that is attractive,
economical, and profitable while keeping the guests happy and maximizing
profits. To assist in this goal, players can set costs and organize events
that will attract more golfers. Additionally, players can increase the traffic
to their entertainment destination by adding features to the resort such as
course hazards, putting greens, flower gardens, pro and rental shops, food and
beverage stands and even a swimming pools.

Minimum
system requirements include a Pentium 200Mhz, 32 MB RAM, a Sound Card, 1MB
Video Card, Mouse and Keyboard and Windows 95/98/ME.
