This weekend’s Good Old Games sale features a whopping eleven games from Rebellion, developer of the Alien vs. Predator games. The catch? Well, none of them are actually Alien vs. Predator. Considering the quality of their last AvP game, that might be for the best.
The lack of AvP action doesn’t mean this list is short on great games. The entire Empire Earth trilogy is available, offering up one of the better RTS/strategy hybrids out there. And if that’s too historical for you, GoG.com also has both Ground Control games, which coat the RTS and strategy action with a sci-fi garnish. For the complete list of titles, see GoG.com.
By far the most unique game on the list, Evil Genius, can be yours for a mere $3.99. The game is essentially a villain simulator, inspired by 60s spy movies. Rebellion also has a Facebook version of the game, which was successful enough to inspire the studio to open a social games division..
As with most of their weekend sales, GoG.com offers the games at an even further discount if you buy them all together. The deal is actually kind of absurd, allowing you to grab all eleven games for only $32.69. If that’s not a good excuse for some weekend classic gaming, I don’t know what is.
