Get ready for war with the new X-Men: Apocalypse teaser

"Everything they've built will fall!"

20th Century Fox released a new teaser for X-Men: Apocalypse.

The new spot gves us a 30-second glimpse at the destruction of Earth at the hands of En Sabah Nur (Oscar Isaac), perhaps better known as the mutant Apocalypse, who, upon awakening after thousands of years, is disillusioned with the world as he finds it and recruits a team of powerful mutants to cleanse mankind.

To save Earth, the X-Men have but one choice — go to war.

With the fate of Earth hanging in balance, Raven (Jennifer Lawrence) with the help of (a finally bald) Profressor X (James McAvoy) must lead a team of young X-Men — including Cyclops, Nightcrawler, and Jean Grey — to stop the most formidable foe they've faced yet and save mankind from total annihilation.

The teaser gives us only a glimpse of Apocalypse's power, but he certainly appears to be living up to his name.

X-Men Apocalypse will premiere in theaters on May 27, 2016. For a better understanding of where X-Men: Apocalypse fits in the film timeline, check out director Bryan Singer's explanation.
