Get a closer look at Magic: The Gathering’s upcoming expansion ‘Battle for Zendikar’

Wizards of the Coast took to PAX Prime with a few cards up their sleeve. Wil Wheaton and Ashly Burch lead attendees through storyline details for the upcoming expansion set for Magic: The Gathering, 'Battle for Zendikar'. Along with storyline details, Wheaton and Burch gave us a look at the set's mechanics and key cards, the return of Gideon, Ulamog, and some new basic lands.

Battle for Zendikar be releasing on October 2, with 274 cards for players to pick through. Take a look at the PAX Panel below, and a look at the new lands below the video!

Praire Stream
Land – Plains Island (Rare)

Smoldering Marsh
Land – Swamp Mountain (Rare)
Smoldering Marsh enters the battlefield tapped unless you control two or more basic lands.
The Continent of Guul Draz is a geothermal swampland reeking of heat and decay.

Cinder Glade
Land – Mountain Forest (Rare)
Cinder Glade enters the battlefield tapped unless you control two or more basic lands.
On the volcanic continent of Akoum, bizarre vegetation clusters around gas vents, and jagged mountain peeks rise high into the air.

Canopy Vista
Land – Forest Plains (Rare)
Canopy Vista enters the battlefield tapped unless you control two or more basic lands.
The continent of Murassa lies beneath a blanket of dense vegetation, its enormous branches tangled so thickly that inhabitants never see the ground.
