George R. R. Martin’s “A Game of Thrones” to be a video game

Focus Home Interactive and Cyanide have officially announced their plans to create a new strategy game based on fantasy author George R. R. Martin’s popular, best-selling “A Song of Ice and Fire” series.

A Game of Thrones: Genesis will immerse players in the political intrigues and battles of the different noble families of the Kingdom of Westeros. The developers are promising a variety of ways to overcome the game’s many challenges, allowing players to use their military, economic or diplomatic prowess over brute force.

Peacefully or forcefully annex surrounding territories, besiege enemy castles, send spies to infiltrate behind enemy lines, assassinate trouble-making officers or capture them to ask for a ransom. Trickery, treachery and deceit are widespread and you will constantly have to watch your back if you want to avoid a bitter defeat.

Cyanide has also signed an agreement with George R. R. Martin to create a RPG based on the series, but there are no further details on that project at this time.
