PlayStation 3 hacker George Hotz, or GeoHot as he is also known, is asking for your donations in his fight against Sony. The company recently filed a lawsuit against Hotz, and rather than giving up, the PlayStation 3 jailbreaker is hoping to raise funds for protection against Sony’s lawyers. As it stands, Hotz is currently outnumbered five lawyers to two, and while he didn’t state the desired sum, he did say the following about the situation and Sony:
“Media, I need your help. This is the first time I have asked. Please, if you support this cause, help me out and spread the word. I want, by the time this goes to trial, to have Sony facing some of the hardest hitting lawyers in the business. Together, we can help fix the system”
Note the lack of a period at the end of his statement. If he gets through the Sony debacle, I am going to personally call the grammar police on the guy. But in regards to the matter, it appears that Hotz is genuinely upset at Sony, and he hopes to win the case, which he feels was unjustly brought upon him as it conflicts with free speech and the freedom that comes with purchasing goods. According to Hotz, he is completely against piracy, a statement that has caused great conflict among supporters and detractors of the PlayStation 3 jailbreaker.
