It looks like Game Informer has prematurely set live an Assassin's Creed III banner, providing further evidence that the next installment in the Assassin's Creed franchise will take place during the American Revolution.
Game Informer pulled the banner immediately, but not before some NeoGAF user captured the image. The new leaked image shows George Washington along with what appears to be the game's new main protagonist, who was leaked by Kotaku yesterday. The image of Washington appears to be from the famous painting of Washington crossing the Delaware River in the American Revolutionary War.
This new image likely confirms the legitimacy of yesterday's leaked promotional art, which showed the game's protagonist dressed in an 18th-century military jacket standing in front of the original Continental flag.
The banner also contains some text that reads: "Visit the hub", which suggests Ubisoft is planning to reveal something big for the game in the coming days via a Game Informer central page, or perhaps in their next magazine.
While Game Informer may be planning a cover story or hub page, a planned Ubisoft event next week looks to reveal some major details about Assassin's Creed III, including background story, plot details, and more information about the game's new hero.
