First ‘Finding Dory’ trailer is pretty forgettable

Just keep swimming...

Disney Pixar debuted the first trailer for Finding Dory, the anticipated sequel to 2003's Finding Nemo, and — well, it wasn't too memorable.Aside from the Toy Story franchise, Pixar's sequels typically don't live up to the original and that looks to be the case with this one.

For those who don't quite get it from the teaser, Finding Dory, set six months after the end of Finding Nemo, begins when the lovable, but forgetful Dory recalls her childhood memory — specifically something about the "jewel of Monterey, California." Kinda, sorta remembering her past, Dory, Marlin, and Nemo set off to find her family.

Granted, this is just a first look teaser, and Ellen DeGenerous — the voice of Dory — did promise a "fantastic, really funny" script with "a lot of heart." I didn't get that from this trailer, but, again, it's just a first look. If anything, Dory's crazy antics and forgetful memory should at least provide plenty of laughs.

Finding Dory is scheduled to be released on June 17, 2016.
