First 25 minutes of Mortal Kombat X are a cinematic adventure

By cinematic adventure, I mean cutscenes

Following in the foot steps of Mortal Kombat 9, Mortal Kombat X's opening sequence is heavy in cinematics and fights. The cutscenes can be quite long, but quick time events will keep you busy for at least the first 6 and a half minutes, according to recently published video highlighting the first 25 minutes of the game's story.

How many quick time events can you look forward to in the first six-and-a-half minutes of Mortal Kombat X? Nine. Those events are just there to get your button mashers ready for the first fight (which occurs around 6 minutes and 50 seconds in).

There's really no way to tell a story in a fighting game other than the use of cutscenes, but don't worry, in MKX the fights blend right into the cutscenes and never leaves your fingers with nothing to do for long (at least in the first 25 minutes; who knows after that). It seems as though with every trailer a new set of characters are revealed, it's almost a surprise that the TV spot didn't reveal someone new.

The opening 25 minutes had to reveal someone and they did! Smoke and Nightwolf are in the game, but whether or not they are playable is still unclear. At least we get to look at them, right?

Mortal Kombat X is hitting the Xbox One, PS4, and PC on April 14, and the Xbox 360 and PS3 at a later date.
