Ex Machina star, Alicia Vikander, to be Lara Croft in upcoming Tomb Raider reboot

Adios Rey. Hello Ava.

Earlier this year, Daisy Ridley, one of the most recognizable faces from the blockbuster hit Star Wars: The Force Awakens was rumored to be in talks with Warner Bros. and MGM to be Lara Croft in the Tomb Raider reboot.

Ridley went on to confirm that there had been 'conversations' over her starring in the Tomb Raider reboot, but had not been offered the role.

According to a report from Variety, Lara Croft will be played by Alicia Vikander in the Tomb Raider reboot. Despite the Ridley rumors, sources have been saying that Vikander was always the first choice to be Croft. Vikander will no doubt bring her all to the role, she played Ava the android in Ex Machina and recent role in The Danish Girl.

The Tomb Raider reboot will be directed by Roar Uthaug.
