This one is going to be felt for a long time. But it's amazing to see the reach that one person can have without even knowing it. Frontier Developments will be adding "Fisher's Rest," an incredibly named outpost to the game in the upcoming Update 2.3. Following the death of the beloved actress, Elite Dangerous fans took to the game's official forum to request some sort of commemoration, when it was revealed by the game's Executive Producer, Michael Brookes that they were one step ahead of them.
In a post, Brookes said:
Sad news indeed – a 'Fisher's Rest' outpost will be added to the game in the 2.3 release.Michael
Elite Dangerous is not the first game to have some sort of tribute to Fisher, as Star Wars: The Old Republic players gathered to celebrate Carrie Fisher's life on the game's version of Alderaan alongside a fan-made character created to look just like Princess Leia.
This is likely not the last game we will see do something to honor Carrie Fisher. Seriously, great stuff.
