EA and Respawn reveal single-player only Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order

Trust only in the force.

Finally! After waiting for many years, EA is finally releasing their first story heavy Star Wars game. We had two Battlefront games which had shoddy reception from fans and critics alike but Respawn looks to bring back a great reputation to Star Wars games with Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.

Today at Star Wars Celebration, we got our first look at the game via an in-engine trailer (not gameplay) which showcases a new Jedi named Cal attempting to survive in a world where his kind has been wiped out by Order 66. We see a lot of different things in this trailer ranging from Cal’s attempts to keep his head down, a droid named BD-1, plenty of action, and wall-running!

The game will see Cal exploring the ancient mysteries of the Jedi Order as he’s hunted by the likes of Inquisitors and Purge Troopers who make an effort to wipe out the remaining survivors of Order 66.

A leak which had information proven right by this trailer gave us a few other new details. The game isn’t open world but isn’t super linear either, you’ll go from planet to planet and go into explorable areas to progress the story. Allegedly, the game will feel aesthetically similar to Rogue One and Solo with some prequel flair in there.

In terms of gameplay, the game resembles Force Unleashed and Jedi Knight with a mixture of Uncharted. Apparently, there’s some comparisons to Dark Souls internally and Sekiro’s perry mechanic. It sounds more like it just takes some of the ideas of that combat but isn’t a Souls-like Star Wars game.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order will release on November 15th, 2019 for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
