E3 2019: Doom Eternal is releasing this November, collector’s edition revealed

The Doom Slayer returns.

Doom is back! After its acclaimed revival in 2016, people have been clamoring for a new Doom and we’re getting one in 2019. Doom Eternal got a new batch of trailers and info at E3 showcasing more insane gameplay and a kick-ass collector’s edition.

The new footage showcased some of the new weapons, enemies, locations, and everything in between. We even learned that the Doom Slayer will be ripping and tearing through heaven and hell because why the hell not?! We also see a boost mechanic that allows the Doom Slayer to propel himself through the air, a wrist blade, and other key mechanics that will improve on Doom (2016)’s fast-paced frenetic gameplay.

If you’re a multiplayer person, Doom Eternal will have a new mode called “Battlemode”. This mode sees someone playing as the Doom Slayer while two others play as demons trying to take down the Doom Slayer. The mode emphasizes strategy as the various behemoths fight to the death for three rounds.

It’s unclear if Doom Eternal will include traditional multiplayer modes like TDM and others as Doom (2016) did.

Finally, we’ve got the collector’s edition which is one of the best in recent memory. Doom Eternal’s collector’s edition will include a fully wearable real life Doom Slayer helmet, a steelbook case designed by Mondo, a digital soundtrack, and expansion pass which includes two story DLCs.

Doom Eternal will launch on November 22nd, 2019 for Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch, Google Stadia, and PC.
