Dungeon Siege III Coming with Sweet Extras on PC

Dungeon Siege III may be experiencing a delay, but now you have more time to decide which version you want. That decision just got a bit tougher (or easier?), as Square Enix and Valve have teamed up to sweeten the pot on the PC version. If the June 17 release is too far off for you, these extras may be just what you need.

Pre-purchase the game on Steam and you’ll be able to immediately download and play Steam versions of Dungeon Siege I and II. In addition, the game supports Steam achievements, Cloud, and auto-updating. The 360 and PS3 versions will have achievements and trophies, but you’ll be missing out on two free classics if you go in that direction.

The delay of the game was, similar to the delay of Duke Nukem, required to give it a final level of polish. “Although the final polish phase has demanded a bit more time than originally planned, we want to assure fans and followers that the additional effort will allow us to deliver an action-RPG worthy of its rich heritage,” said Mike Fischer, president and CEO of Square Enix.

June is now one game more crowded. This summer is looking more and more like a good time to stay indoors playing games rather than soaking up some sun. When the next generation of gamers is as pale as a mob of vampires, we can blame the industry for their dastardly release schedules.
