Disney Planes: Fire & Rescue announced for Wii U and 3DS

Disney Interactive and video game publisher Little Orbit are teaming up to create a new game based on Disney's new animated feature film Planes: Fire & Rescue. The new game, which goes by the same name as the film, will launch this fall exclusively for Nintendo platforms.

“Working with Disney Interactive on this game has been a wonderful experience for us,” said Matt Scott, CEO of Little Orbit.  “We know these are beloved characters, and we’re thrilled to bring them to life in this fun-filled video game experience.”

Inspired by the adventure comedy film, Disney Planes: Fire & Rescue continues the storyline as players join the Piston Peak Air Attack team to fight fires and rescue those in need. The game includes nine playable characters recognizable from the big screen, including the famous air racer Dusty along with a new crop of characters Blade, Dipper, Dynamite and more.

There are two different game modes: Fire & Rescue and Training Academy, as well as 12 story missions and more than 30 training academy missions that see you operate planes, helicopters and ground vehicles.

Disney Planes: Fire & Rescue will be available this fall for Wii U, 3DS, Wii, and DS.
