Darksiders II release date has been pushed back from its original June release date. It will now release globally in August 2012.
THQ made the announcement on the official website where they clarified a few frequently asked questions in hopes of putting an end to the rumor-mill.
Darksiders II will be available on Xbox 360, PS3, and PC in August 2012, but the specific dates will vary by region. The exact street dates for each region will be announced in the "days to come."
THQ assured fans the delay had nothing to do with any other platform releases (like the Wii U), and insisted the date was shifted to "ensure we meet the high quality threshhold that we are committed to achieving."
"This is great news for the team at Vigil, because it allows additional time for polish and to ensure that all aspects of Darksiders II meet the high-quality bar the team is targeting," THQ Sledgehammer wrote. "In game development, more time is always a good thing for quality and the Vigil team is dedicated to providing the definitive Darksiders experience."
Sledgehammer went on to say this was a small delay to allow additional time for "polish and bug fixing." So while possible, I highly doubt another delay will come. Be on the look out for Darksiders II in August.
