Daniel Craig has reportedly signed on for new 007 film; Adele to sing theme song again

Fingers crossed.

For over a decade, Daniel Craig has portrayed the iconic suave MI6 agent James Bond A.K.A. 007. 2 out of his 4 movies are critically acclaimed while the other 2 range from pretty bad to just ok. It seemed like after 2015's Spectre, Craig was going to walk away from the role forever. He expressed his hatred for the role in interviews stating that he'd "rather slash my wrists" than play 007 ever again. Pretty extreme, we know.

He may have been using those comments to publicly negotiate for more money or get some other benefits written into his contract but we'll probably never know. Rumors began circulating earlier this year that Craig was in talks with 007 producers to return to the role and that if he committed to the role, they could go right into production.

Reportedly, Craig has officially signed on to put on the suit and gun holster one last time and supposedly, the producers have almost convinced singer Adele to return to the series to sing the opening theme song. A source close to the project gave some details regarding the internal feelings about the two coming back to Bond.

“Craig and Adele together are the winning team, the ultimate choice, the money spinners. It’s taken time but Daniel has come round and the strong con–sensus in the Bond offices is that Mr. Craig is 007 again. As for Adele, she’s more of an unknown quantity but loved being part of Bond, so the signs are positive.”

Adele sang the opening song to Craig's critically acclaimed third Bond film titled Skyfall which went on to win her numerous awards including a Grammy for Best Original Song. Adele's vocal chords are currently damaged but sources close to the project remain positive about bringing her back.

While there's no official confirmation, this will most likely be Craig's fifth and final James Bond movie. After the lukewarm reception of Spectre, it seems that Craig wants to come back and do one last incredible adventure in the shoes of 007 to seal his fate as one of the best actors to portray the special agent.

The source also believes that the untitled Bond movie will begin shooting as soon as next year which would likely put it in a 2019 release window.

In related news, the director of the widely praised Batman trilogy labeled as "The Dark Knight Trilogy", Christopher Nolan, confirmed he has spoken to 007 producers about doing a Bond movie in the future. It sounds like he isn't committed to anything yet and that it might be a while before he takes a swing at another iconic series like 007.
