Command & Conquer Yuri’s Revenge Goes Gold

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

COMMAND & CONQUER YURI’S REVENGE GOES GOLD

Expansion to best-selling Red Alert 2 will ship to stores September 25

LAS VEGAS, NV (September 6, 2001) – Red Alert™ fans will face another
challenge this fall with an expansion to Red Alert 2. Westwood Studios™
announced today that Command & Conquer Yuri’s Revenge™ has gone gold and will
ship to stores in North America September 25. Yuri’s Revenge is published by
Electronics Arts (NASDAQ:ERTS) under the EA GAMES brand.

Yuri’s Revenge is the largest expansion in Westwood’s history, adding to the
real-time strategy game new Allied and Soviet units, two single-player
campaigns, multiplayer features, co-operative campaigns, an hour of filmed story
sequences, and an entirely new side: an army lead by the mysterious psychic
warrior, Yuri.

In the original Red Alert 2, Yuri was a controllable unit on the Soviet side.
For the expansion, Yuri breaks from the Soviets and launches his own bid for
world domination through psychic and genetic technology. Players will take
command of a time-traveling task force and go back in time to unravel Yuri’s
evil plot.

“Our goal with Yuri’s Revenge was to take everything the fans love about Red
Alert 2 and expand on it,” said Mark Skaggs, executive producer of Yuri’s
Revenge. “Adding a third side was a huge undertaking for us, but well worth the
effort. The new units and technologies offer a ton of new tactics and
strategies, and add so much to the gameplay. The whole team is really excited
about how it turned out and we think consumers will feel the same way.” Yuri’s
Revenge will feature multiplay over a Local Area Network and over the Internet
through Westwood OnlineSM. Players can engage in fierce combat with each other
or team up to play through the 10 co-op missions. Yuri’s Revenge will also have
it’s own dedicated tournament and ladder system that will rank players worldwide
and allow them to keep track of their victories and defeats against other
Internet gamers.
