CDV Software Announces Christopher
Columbus’ Arrival in the Americas "American Conquest" Screenshots Released to
Commemorate Historical Event
ISLAND OF GUANAHANI, BAHAMAS – October 12,
1492 – CDV Software today announced that Christopher Columbus has set foot on
the island of Guanahani, one of the 700 islands that make up the archipelago now
known as the Commonwealth of the Bahamas. Columbus, an Italian explorer
searching for a shorter route to the Spice Islands, received funding from the
Queen of Spain. Though his quest for a shorter route to the East proved
fruitless, Columbus’ landfall will provoke centuries’ worth of conflict on
American soil.
This momentous event is simulated in
"American Conquest," a historical real-time strategy title devoted to the quest
for the New World. This latest in RTS features a dozen playable nations and
beautiful art and animation lauded by GameSpot as "shockingly good and
