Five time Golden Globe Award nominee Chiwetel Ejiofor has been cast as Baron Mordo in Doctor Strange. While he may not sound familiar, he has been in a number of films might recognize.
Ejiofor acted as the Operative (the assassin) in Serenity, Luke (the *spoiler* back stabber) in Children of Men, Lola (the drag queen) in Kinky Boots, Solomon in 12 Years a Slave, and as the geologist in the end-of-the-world film 2012.
In the comics Baron Mordo is a villain, but this will not be the case with the Baron Mordo that Ejiofor will be portraying.
Baron Mordo will be a blend of a number of characters from the Doctor Strange universe. The film adaptation of the comics will be changing up a number of things, in fact, Tilda Swinton will play the female version of the traditionally male Ancient One. The Ancient One in the comics is the mentor of both Doctor Strange (played by Benedict Cumberbatch) and Baron Mordo.
Baron Mordo attempts to kill the Ancient One (in the comics), thus showing his evil-streak.
Doctor Strange is scheduled to release on November 4, 2016.
