Cataclysm Becomes Fastest-Selling PC Expansion Ever

World of Warcraft: Cataclysm has sold 4.7 million copies in its first month of sales, making it the fastest-selling PC expansion ever. It had already sold 3.3 million copies on its release day, breaking the previous record held by Wrath of the Lich King, the last WoW expansion.

World of Warcraft’s success may not be much of a surprise at this point, but the tenacity of its community after all these years is impressive nevertheless. With over 12 million subscribers, expect Cataclysm to continue to sell ridiculous amounts for a long time to come.
