Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Zombies reveal coming this week

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is a little over a month and a half away. We know a lot about the campaign and multiplayer but the beloved Zombies mode is a mystery. We won’t have to wait much longer, though.

Treyarch has announced they will be lifting the curtain on Zombies later this week. After a very brief teaser hit the web, it was officially confirmed we will get a full reveal on September 30th. The brief teaser shows a soldier being attacked by zombies… so, basically what you’d expect.

Another teaser after the Black Ops Cold War multiplayer reveal  seemed to emphasize a true horror aspect. While Zombies has always been intense in Call of Duty, Black Ops Cold War looks to take it up a notch. Treyarch also noted that this is a “new Zombies story”, seemingly disconnected from previous games.

On a related note, Zombies mastermind Jason Blundell left Treyarch earlier this year. While he seemed to leave on a high note with good intentions, it came at an odd time. This was after Sledgehammer had their Call of Duty game canned and Treyarch had to move theirs up a year. Treyarch has a history of some troubled developments but this one seemed the most notable.

While nothing points to Blundell leaving for this reason, it raised some eyebrows. Whatever the case may be, we’ll see the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Zombies reveal this Wednesday at 10AM PT.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will release on November 13th for Xbox One, Xbox Series X, PS4, PS5, and PC. Come back to GameZone later this week to see the full Zombies trailer.
