Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 Season Pass detailed, not coming to Xbox 360 or PS3

Includes re-imagined maps from World at War and Black Ops

Treyarch hasn't officially announced the contents of Call of Duty: Black Ops 3's Season Pass, but it looks like the Xbox Store has jumped the gun a bit. While it's likely we could get an official announcement during today's Black Ops 3 livestream, the Xbox Store has pretty much laid it all out on the table for us. Of course, anyone familiar with Call of Duty's history probably already knows what to expect — additional multiplayer maps, more Zombies content, and other multiplayer-centric additions.

What's interesting in the Black Ops 3 season pass is that it includes "re-imagined fan-favorite maps" from Call of Duty: World at War and the Call of Duty: Black Ops series. We knew Black Ops' Nuketown would be returning as a pre-order bonus, but now it looks like other older maps from the franchise will be joining it.

In addition to multiplayer maps, the season pass will include "thrilling Treyarch Zombies content." As a reminder, Black Ops 3's zombies mode is called "Shadows of Evil," and promises to deliver "an incredibly rich and deep narrative and action-packed co-op survival experience that is signature to Treyarch's strain of Zombies." The new zombies mode sends players to the 1940s film-noir era and introduces four new characters into an unraveling experience masterminded by the mysterious Shadow Man. And remember, anyone who orders the Season pass will be among the first to experience "The Giant" zombies map — a remake of Treyarch's classic "Der Riese" zombies map — on day one.

Perhaps the most interesting takeaway from the listing is that Black Ops 3's season pass won't be coming to last-gen systems. The listing specifically states, "Season Pass and "The Giant" Zombies bonus map are not available on Xbox 360." It can be assumed this holds true for PlayStation 3 as well. Last-gen systems are already not getting the Black Ops 3 campaign. With no additional multiplayer content either, it makes purchasing Black Ops 3 on last-gen hard to justify.
