Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 – Awakening’s Skyjacked map previewed

Black Ops 3's new map offers a unique twist on Black Ops 2's Hijacked

With the release of Call of Duty: Black Ops 3's first DLC Pack – Awakening — rapidly approaching, Activision has begun previewing the new multiplayer maps that'll come with it.

Today, we get a look at Skyjacked, one of four new multiplayer maps arriving with Awakening. A re-imagining of popular Black Ops 2 map "Hijacked," Skyjacked takes to the skies, as you battle aboard a security VTOL in the couds over urban Zurich. As you'll see in the brief teaser above, Skyjacked is designed to give players the opportunity "to explore the map in a variety of new ways" using Black Ops 3's new core movement system.

Awakening also packs three additional multiplayer maps — Gauntlet, Splash, and Rise — as well as the first chapter of Black Ops 3's Zombies DLC, which will take players on "an epic journey" with the Origin characters Richtofen, Nicolai, Takeo, and Dempsey.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 Awakening will be available via the Black Ops 3 Season Pass, which includes all four of the planned DLC packs at a discounted rate, for a total of $49.99. You can also purchase it individually for $15.

As a reminder, DLC for Black Ops 3 is a timed-exclusive and will launch on PlayStation 4 platforms February 2, 2016, followed by all other platforms 30 days later. Awakening, or any of the other Black Ops 3's season pass content, will not be available on PS3 or Xbox 360.
